Dressing Your Baby Too Grown

Are baby clothes being styled too grown? Do you think it's just a cute thing to see babies/toddlers in miniature clothes, whose style is patterned after adult clothes? Or do you think children should dress like children? What does that mean to you?

Personally, I have went shopping for my daughter and I have seen clothes I never expected to be available in the baby/toddler section. I have seen clothes that were too tight, too short and clothes that I would never dress my baby in because it simply looks too grown for her age.

Have baby/toddler clothes gone out of control?

What are some of your thoughts?

  1. I have seen some clothes in the infant and toddler department that looks like it belongs on a call girl. I've seen 4 year old little girls with heels on in church and on the trains. The clothes made for kids now are ridiculous. What happened to the innocent and stylish clothes that we grew up wearing? This is the start of the provocative dressings of preteens and teenage girls. I also think this holds a part of the blame to why a lot of our young daughters are becoming sexually active and pregnant at such a young age. The way you dress will attract unneeded attention. When I have a daughter I will dress her like my mother dressed me. Ruffle socks and all.

    1. I agree Ventrice. It is really getting out of hand and it's only going to get worse if parents don't start parenting. One way to avoid having to search for decent clothes is to gain the skill of sewing. Once we learn how to sew, we will not have to worry about how our children dress because we will have styled our children's clothes. But, your words are very thought provoking. Thanks!
